Hum, slips when warm? That is unusual. Usually it is the other way
around
The easy and hopefully correct solution could be the kick-down is
maladjusted. Thuis would make goofy shifting which could be mistaken as
slipping.
More involved would be, shot seals and clutches. If it was seals,
then the problem would be in reverse, it would slip until it got hot and
the seals swelled up.
Since this is on a Borg Warner, I would hesitate to take it to a shop
since they will most likely gouge you big time. If you are even slightly
mechanically inclined find a good book on it and see if you can find a
rebuild kit from NAPA.
