Scouters,
Why would you want recirculated air in the heater. If you rig it this
way in cold weather you will get such humidity build up that you'll
never see out the windows save about an 8 x 10 spot over the defroster
vent.
Old cars were like this and there is no value in this setting. Check
your thermostat if the engine won't heat enough to run you out with the
heater. Well... that depends on how many and how large are the holes in
the bodywork.
BTW without shutting off the outside air, your A/C would not be able to
cool the interior. BTDT.
