Re[2]: Thread on fans... revisited...

Hey JR! I've slept OUTSIDE AT -5! Try backpacking the Grand
Canyon in January! Carhartt Arctic Thermal Hoojiwats.

Just for ONE reason why this may be happnening is that here in
THE DESERT, when the temp outside STARTS at 117, it warms the
engine up when you look at it! Alot of people take the
thermostats out in the summer. I'm not sure if there's one in
     there now.

        Sorry for yelling.

        -Joel

Anyway, I realize that mounting the heavy mass factory fan blade
is only a good solution if there aren't too many changes in
throttle setting. The flex fan is on slate soon.

Joel,

Have I been outside in the cold too long, or is this NOT really the
solution to NO HEAT?

I thought... with a cold motor, the thermostat never opens, so NO
coolant flows THROUGH the radiator.. the only reason your fan is cooling
your truck is from the simple air flow over the motor from the fan...
not because of the fan + radiator. I figured this wouldn't be an issue
at 20 degrees.. now, my friend's little Nissan something-or-other, at
-20, never once warmed up across town.. electric fan n' all.. it was
just the cold airflow over the motor. But at 20 degrees, that shouldn't
be a problem for you.

Brrrr.. 20 degrees.. how can you stand to be that cold, Joel? ;-)

-Tom (-1 here! Feels like summer)
