Tom's Timing recommendations...

Tom H., Tom M, et al,

To clear up the timing mark on the crank pulley you should all try
     this:

Clean the crank pulley counterweight. Put masking tape (3/4" wide)
on the entire flat counterweight that has the timing groove. Then run
a razor knife through the groove, and peel off one side of the tape.
Now you have one half of the counterweight 'perfectly' masked. Spray
white spray paint over the bare counterweight side. Remove the other
     half of the tape.

You should now have a bright white half, and a rusty brown red
half. With any light in the universe, it's SUPER easy to tell the
difference where the groove is. Goose the berjeebers out of the
degree plate, and voila, perfect timing every time! Easy to read too.
Look right next to the radiator neck with the timing light for no
     parallax error.

Good luck, and happy scouting. My Tranny goes in this weekend.

     -Joel
