1000c torsion bars

Looking under the front bumper, you'll see the lower control-arms and the bump stops. The distance from the top of the lower control arm to the bump stop BRACKET (not the
rubber itself, which may be long gone anyway) is spec'd at
2 11/16 +- 1/16.

I asked the 100 yr old guy at the local spring shop about my
torsion bars. He said one time somebody bought a big
supply of them for Chrysler cars. He wound up using them
as tomato stakes... the implication being that the factory
ones just don't really go bad.. IF they aren't nicked...

Wheel alignment:

Caster: 1.5 to 2.5 negative
Camber: 1/2 to 1 1/2 positive
Toe in: 1/8 to 3/16 inches
King pin* inclination: 8 degrees

*Of course, it doesn't actually have a king pin but I
guess an alignment guy would know what that's trying
to say.
