Shhhhhhhh!  It really is this easy, but don't tell everyone.  The shackle
manufacturers wouldn't be able to gouge you $30-$100 for a pair of shackles
that you can have fabbed to your specs for just a few $$!

I would say "yes" to the "H" pattern or to an "X" on the middle of the two
shackles, depending on length, to add to stability and strength.
