Eric Stude (BinderNut) of the BinderBunch has a 6.9L diesel in his Scout 
II - featured in FourWheeler (or one of those) a year or so ago.

He's running a wide ratio T19 (along with dual transfer cases).. so it 
*can* be done.

Maybe Eric'll chime in with all the details for us!
