If it was a dead short it would drain alot faster and probably burn up
the wire or blow a fuse. What I do to hunt down a short is disconnect a
battery cable and scrape it against the battery terminal. Even with a
slight draw you should be able to see a spark (helps if its dark). Then
start disconnecting things one by one and keep checking for a spark. Do
the easy stuff first, like pulling fuses, the firewall connector,
alternator plug...
