Subject: no reverse

This happened to me a few years back in my 75 Scout. Apparently, there is a part wayyyy in the back of the transmission that
broke. Had to pull the trans and dissassemble to replace the broken part. I found a good local tranny place and let them do it all--
I do a lot of things, but not automatics. Anyway, they cleaned it all up and replaced the clutch pacs, seals, converter, etc. About
$600 bucks worth as I recall. It's worked fine since. Back when the thing broke, I considered converting over to a manual. But
from what I've read here, I'm glad I didn't attempt doing that. Besides, for my off-road purposes, which is mostly running on
mountain trails, the gearing with the 727 and Dana 20 is just fine.
