Re: Density of snow



     Here's my thoughts,
     
     There's a rule of thumb to equate number of inches of snow to 
     equivalent rainfall.  I think it's something like 12" of snow would be 
     1" of rain.  If this is the case, I would venture a guess that snow 
     has a density of about 1/12 that of water.  (I'm not sure about the 
     inch conversion, but I think the logic should work.)
