Re: Intake Leak

Michael,

Are the holes in your intake manifold in what look like "freeze plugs"?
When I had my intake manifold cleaned, I had some holes that were rusted
through what looked to be freeze plugs on the bottom of the intake
manifold. These are not wet passages, in fact I believe that these are
exhaust gas passages for heating the intake manifold. Note: I think
someone said that some years they used coolant to heat the Intake
manifold and some years they use exhaust to heat it. These plugs cover
an opening that is independant and seperate from your intake runners.
You could patch them with JB Weld for a temporary fix (couple of years)
or go down to an auto parts place and get some freeze plugs and install
them in there with some sealer.

I hope this helps.
