On Board Welders

Anyone a little more knowledgeable in EE than I want to take a look at that?
Looks like fun.. convert your Delcotron alternator to an on-board welder.

I'm wondering what kind of output you could get from it.. and if I could
wire up an external regulator and rectifier to allow *switching* between
"Welder" and "Second Alternator" mode..

Just have to lay it down on paper and get my thoughts straight.. :)
