stainless exhaust pipe

has anyone formed 304 stainless steel exhaust pipe ( 2 inch diameter) 
with a regular 
muffler shop hydraulic bender?
i have heard that if the dies are not in good shape the walls of the
pipe can collapse. i was thinking of making a 
pattern with either brake line or regular low carbon exhaust pipe to 
practice with on the machine. i have heard also of filling the tubing 
with sand and taping the ends up to prevent the stainless pipe from 
collapsing. has anyone tried this approach? the muffler i am using is a 
borla turbo muffler 2 inch inlet and 2 inch outlet. i will be 
doing this myself and any tips you could offer would be appreciated.

after doing the work i hope to have some tricks of my own i could
share with the digest.
