Guages, and rear main seal.
------------------------------
John,
I have been looking for a tach for a while now,and the
Hummer guys with Diesels, seem to like the Autometer #2888 that
has a max of 4Krpm. Haven't checked around, but if the 3
cluster you got was $40 it sounds like the others will be
reasonable. You can just throw a resistor in line to limit
the brightness of the lamps in the guages, better yet, get
about a .5A potentiometer and dial to the level you like
then lock-tight it solid.

I really like these gauges and can recommend them to anyone. They come
with little filters you place over the lamps to illuminate the gauge in
read, green or plain to match the stock dash lighting. I wired the gauge
lighting into the IH dash lighting so they are controlled by the lighting
reostat. They are very bright when compared to the stock IH lighting!
Someday I'd like to also order an Autometer tachometer. They have one that
displays from 0-5000 rpm in 2-1/6" diameter to match my other gauges, but
it ain't cheap. I don't *need* a tachometer, so this would be a luxury
item purchase that will wait. I think the cost for the 3-pack gauge
cluster was under $40.00 and the vacuum gauge alone was like $30.00.
Hope this helps,
John

John,
Not sure about the T/C but my 392 needs a rear main too! Leaks
about a quart a week. Let me know part nos. and maybe some tips
and tricks if you find any when you do yours.

Subject: Suggestions Needed - Dana 20 Rebuild
I'm planning on dropping the TF727 auto tranny in the same operation so as
to replace the leaking rear main seal in the V345A. I figured I might as
well do the whole enchilada while I'm getting greasy.
Thanks for your suggestions,
John
