<e28> ABS pump cycling at low speed

ABS pump cycling at low speedCraig,

I had it diagnosed by my local Panzer mechanic. He has a Bosch unit that
plugs into the cable and measures the output while driving. He identified a
low signal from the right front. The symptom is the low signal fools the ABS
computer into thinking the wheel is locked up at very low speeds. The cause,
he claims, is corrosion in the hub causing the sensor to be squeezed. Sounds
fishy to me. I think if corrosion doesn't pooch the part electrically, then
maybe it changes the alignment, say increasing the gap between the probe
that sticks way out of the sensor and the hub-gear.

I had mine out, and it was in there squished in there pretty tight. I
cleaned up the hub-gear as best I could, but it didn't fix it. I bought used
front sensors, but they're not in yet - its WAY cold here in tropical
Canada. I'll post the results when it warms up.

I saw your post on bimmernut.com. My car has the same problem. Were you
able to get it figured out? What was the solution?

  Thanks
