Congrats on the baby! I don't have one, but all my married friends are
starting to have kids. I don't understand this big urge to buy
a "familymobile" as soon as ONE kid comes along! Four of my friends ran out
and traded their sports cars in on SUVs and minivans as soon as they found out
they were having a kid, and it wasn't even born yet!

The most ridiculous example is my friend who traded in his beautiful and very
roomy 1985 528e for a song ($1000!!!)on a new SUBURBAN! I mean, COME ON how
much junk does one kid need to carry around? A diaper bag, a stroller, some
toys...what's the big deal? Can't all that stuff fit in an E30 easily,
especially if half the rear seat is available?

When I was growing up the only people who had suburbans and big wagons/minivans
were those with three or more kids. My family of four got along fine in our
little 4 door 1985 325e. If your one kid needs more stuff than an average
sized sedan, then that is one spoiled kid! :) At least give the BMW sedans a
chance before trading it in on some monstrosity, that's all I'm saying.
