Re: '95 740iL transmission ills (?)



I have seen several of this model ZF 5HP30 trans being replaced/rebuilt at
80K-100kmiles....at the shop, particularly the in 740i models. I suspect lifetime
fluid = life of the trans.

100K-125K is probably the average maximum service life these days.......which is
why changing the fluid may be a waste of effort. It certainly isn't a mechanic
friendly procedure.......
