Re: BMW's biggest quality problem

Ed, I couldn't agree more with the assessment of dealers. I've said it
before on the list; their dealerships are a problem, from sales (when
shopping for my Z3) through service. Yes, they do seem to ignore it. Last
trip for service, BMW in NJ called to see what I thought. I told them in
detail, gave my e-mail address for response, got only the ads for BMW Films.
(Woof!) From my experience with BMW dealerships, I'm lead to draw two
conclusions: the info is not reaching the top and they're wasting their
money on follow-ups; leasing is their primary business because it is a cash
cow. I suppose they think the on-line film ads will recoup the business
they are losing because they don't know what's going on down-line. (Should
mention at my company who regularly have "great" experiences with
dealerships, are those folks who lease. No wonder there are so many
Porsches in our parking garage. One personal note to the list -- Although
there isn't much discussion of new BMWs on this list, or Z3s for that
matter, I find the groups submissions extremely educational. I feel I can
better deal with the people who care for my car. Thanks, guys!
Donna
