<E34> Headlight Problem

Pat:

I am having the exact same problem with my '90 535ia.  A friend of mine who
owns a BMW repair shop suggested that I replace the LKM (lighting control
module - in fuse box under hood) as they typically fail at this age and do
strange things to the electronics.  I have not done this yet, but give it a
try.  These parts are about $170 new I think, but perhaps a salvage yard in
your area might have one which will work for a while.

Please let me know if this solves your problem, or alternatively if
something else solves the problem.
