I found that a very nice 2nd beamer could be and 320i (E21):

Fun to drive, very reliable, and very easy to maintain.

I know for a fact that they accomodate tall people very well. I once knw a
guy that would only buy BMW's and got and E21. He is very tall and got lots
of room with the E21.

It's rather difficult to find a good one, I think.
