Central Locking problem on 94 318i

Hello,

	I have a 94 and a 93 318i, I have never had a problem with the 93, but 
the 94 has always had some wierd electrical problems with it.  They're 
getting worse and are centered around two areas, the central locking 
system and the alarm system.  Ever since I bought this car, the alarm 
system has acted funny.  I'll be listening to the radio and the alarm 
beep will sound and the radio will spontaneously change radio stations.  
Sometimes, when I turn the car off, the radio alram beep will start to 
sound continuously, only stopping when I turn the key to the first 
position again and then turn it off again.  Sometimes I'll gett into it 
in the morning and it will already be going off.  Now, the car's central 
locking system is on the fritz.  I'll unlock the doors to get in, and 
the doors will immediately re-lock.  Sometimes I'll be in the car and 
the doors will lock after I turn the car off and disengage the inner 
door handles (like it thinks noone is in the car), and I'll be locked IN 
the car.
	It is starting to be a serious problem, my girlfriend was locked inside 
the car for about fifteen minutes theother day and it really freaked her 
out.  I have to get this fixed and that right quick!  Does anybody have 
any thoughts on what this could be?  Here are some hints: 1) I think 
that the security alram and the locking system problems are linked 2) 
this car is prewired for BMW security and has not been altered or 
retrofitted to my knowledge 3) German Wheat beer rocks the house! 4) The 
fault code read-out is 1444 (nothing wrong) 5) all other parts of car 
work normally.
