e30 325 anti-lock brakelight and misc

i recently had mine "appear" and i was wonderin' what the most likely cause
for it was. what would the cost be to fix?

and a couple of other minor things:

1. any  summer and winter tire recommendations? (no all season)
2. should i take any special precautions with winter salts damaging the
body?( it's the first time the car has been up north for winter; 1987 car)
3. what do you guys think about the ate powerdisk rotors? what pads go well
with it?
