<E36> Clutch Question

I have a 93 318i, 136K. I'm not sure whether this is a first or second
clutch but it could very well be the first one. The clutch shifts well and
there's no slipage. However today while in traffic, I was balancing the
clutch and the accelerator  while on a hill to keep the car from rolling
back for a minute or two. I didn't burn the clutch but on subsequent shifts
after that the clutch felt unusually soft. Is this something to be concerned
about ? I'm also kind of at a cross roads on whether to keep or sell the
car. So if the clutch is about to give way, I figure I might as well make
my decision soon. Thanks
