I have a 1997 Z3 1.9L with 45,000 miles. There is a high pitch whine coming from the alternator. One mechanic believes it is the bearings and suggests replacementof the alternator. Will I need to replace the alternator? If yes, please recommend what brand to buy and where to buy the "best value". Thanks, Larry ------------------------------
