LSD, open diff's, the 70's...

If you have an open differential, (non limited slip), and you spin one rear
wheel by hand, the other wheel may spin in the other direction, or it may
not spin at all.  This is true with many diff's, but I'm not sure about the
BMW.  One awesome upgrade for a 325e is a 3.25 LSD diff from a 535i of the
same vintage.  This makes a dramatic improvement in acceleration.

I was pre-teen through most of the actual 70's, but tried to make up for it
later.  One other symptom that you may be having a flashback from the other
type of LSD is if an acoustic ceiling appears to move about like Alpha Bits
(sp?) cereal, when lying on your back.  Closing your eyes may also produce
vivid, bright colors.

At least that's what I heard...
