I still have this very strange cold start problem on my 1986 325e. It does
not happen all the time and seems to depend on the weather outside. I have
changed all the sensors (temp switch, temp sensor, o2 sensor) but I have not
changed the air temp sensor on the side of the air intake housing. The car
starts just fine (I checked the cold start valve and it works) and idles
fine, but sometimes when I touch the accelerator in the first 10 seconds,
the car hesitates. Once the car is warm, it start and goes perfectly. My
question is this...does the air temp sensor have much impact on the
engine???
