Brakes

Any words of wisdom or particulars of the BMW I should keep in mind on my 96 328iS when changing front rotors and pads or is the job pretty much like any other car?  Also, anyone have experience with CAD plated rotors?

One other question.  Where do others place jack stands to avoid damage to the undercarriage?  I have placed in a couple of different places directly under the frame support and in both locations I have torn some of the soft material that
covers the beams.  Any good places? (Any good places to use a jack on as I have made indentations with it too) Thanks!
