Tires
One step products are worthless. There is not magic. If you want to have
good looking tires you must be willing to spend some effort. First clean off
all of the old rubber, grime, wax, silicon etc with a good rubber cleaner.
This may take several applications and will require some scrubbing. After
the tire is clean, apply a non-silicon product that is quality. Forget the K
Mart special. Use McGuires, Zymol, Griot's or other good quality tire
protector. It will last maybe a week. Then do it again.
Tires are attacked by UV. The carbon black in the tires will sacrifice
itself to prevent serious damage to the rubber by the UV rays. Tires are
also attacked by ozone, which is countered by a waxy substance that all tires
have.
