Dull Paint

One issue is that German paints do not like poly based waxes.  There has been 
significant discussion of this on the net and at the recent Gateway Tech 
meeting.  I suggest you might want to try to strip the old stuff.  Make sure 
the car has no oxidized paint.  You may want to use a very file polish.  They 
clay the surface.  Finally, use a wax based wax that does not contain any 
polymers.  For example, Griot's best of show, Zymol (all), etc.
