Hi,
The E30 cabrio was built well into 1992. I have one that was built April 
1992.
The E36 Sedans were introduced into Europe in late 1989, and became full 
models in 1990 and 1991.
For the most part the US models of E36 start in 1991 for the 2 door and 
the 4 door sedans.
The cabrio came much later, and during the gap, they continued to build a 
variety of E30 cabrios, well into late 1992.
