RE: 325iA Cabrio (E-30) year?

One quick way to tell (at least on U.S. models) is to look
at the VIN.  The 10th digit, a letter, is for the model year.

     J = '88
     K = '89
     L = '90
     M = '91
     N = '92
     P = '93   (They skip confusing letters like "O"...)

And so on...
