Re: <E28> ABS question



Hmmm... it sounds like they are prolly sliding a bit too much. You don't
normally get a whole lot of smoke - unless your tyres are the smoky kind :-)

Does the ABS light come on before you start the car? or when the ABS is
activated - (I'm not sure if this should happen)

I'd find a grass paddock or inner city playground (did I just say that out
loud?) and test them on the grass (wet is good) or some loose gravel (low
speed to avoid too many chips.)

they should lock almost instantly on the gravel, and you'll stop fast if the
ABS isn't working. If it is working your stopping distance will increase,
but the wheels will not lock fully (The car will pull up almost perfectly
straight)

You can also pull the ABS relay and then trythe same thing.
