Michelin MXX3 Availability

I've seen Michelin MXX3's, Pirelli PZeros and Dunlop SP8080E on M3s.
Starting with the '99's they changed to the Pilot Sports, but still use the
8080E's every so often.  Haven't seen Pirelli's in quite a while.

Michelin NA advised they'd love to be the exclusive supplier of the M3 tire,
but the can't build them fast enough to satisfy BMW.  Starting last year
Mercedes starting using the same tire sizes front and rear on the 430 Coupe.
That made it even more difficult for BMW.  Thats part of the reason why BMW
changed to the Pilot Sports many months before Michelin NA even planned on
releasing them here.
