I doubt it. My first BMW was an 87 316 which didn have PS.
I'm pretty sure it didn't have the same steering rack and
related components as a PS equiped E30. If you just cut the
drive belt you'd be fighting the hydraulics every time you
turned the wheel. Get the Mobile Tradition parts CD and
check out the 316 system.

Recently ditch the A/C on my 85 635CSi euro. I reckon I
saved at least 30kg.
