<E30>Are e30 a/c's mediocre?

Hello people,

The airconditioning in my car isn't great. I'm wondering if the pressure
might be low. I know there's a low pressure switch in the system. When does
that turn off the compressor? If the compressor works, does that mean the
pressure is good?

Somewhat related: some time next week I'm going to make it so that the a/c
is temporarily turned off on full throttle. It's a fairly simple operation
and I'll make a webpage about it.
