BUY THE BENTLY MANUAL (it is the best service manual,
and has lots of pix showing fastener locations).
REMOVAL:
Remove the knee panel (3 1/2 twist plastic fasteners
along the top edge.
Remove steering wheel (22mm socket + extension, key must
be turned to ON to remove -- mark spindle and wheel before
removing). Although it may be temping to try and remove
the cluster w/o removing the wheel, it is very difficult (ask
me how I know).
Remove inst. cluster trim plate. This is the approx 1" high plate
that runs the lenght of the inst. cluster, just under it. There are two
knerled thumb-nuts attaching it from behind.
Remove instrument cluster trim plate, there are two small phillips
screws that go up and into the glareshield, and four on the lower
edge.
Removing the two inst. cluster retaining screws (up and into the
glaresheild).
Tilt the cluster back and remove the electrical connections. The
large blue, white, and yellow connectors are removed by prying
out the retaining clip that is in the center of the connector about
9mm and then the connector should come out easily -- don't force
it out.
Remove Cluster.
INSTALLATION:
Reverse of removal.
Hope this helps,
J.
