perry et al,
you're welcome to experiment like i did a long time ago with m roadster
shifters in your 325 but you'll probably find out the following:
1. an unbent "stick" (as you call it) will cause the gear shift knob to be
located in the wrong place. 5th gear will be in your passenger seat.
2. the m roadster shifter in your car makes is REALLY short (nearly 50%
reduction)...and DANGEROUSLY close to the drivetrain/guibo. there are other
alternatives which are more liveable for a street-driven car (vs. a
track-only car)
3. your shifting EFFORT will increase dramatically (very notchey and stiff).
your results will NOT vary...they'll be just a described above.

Hi, all the bimmer enthusiasts out there. recently, I have been
reading a lot about the short shifters. I heard that the shifter
from the M roadster can directly swap with mine (95 325is) is it
that easy? I have read some in UUC short shifter page, they have
these sticks bended. Why? I can still use it even though it is not
bended right?
Any input would be appreciated...
Thanks in Advance...
Perry.
