<e28> springs and bilsteins

I have origininal equipment springs and after 174,000 miles I finally
plan to replace them.  I have had bilsteins on the front for about 50k
and wonder if useing them with worn springs will wear them prematurely.
I also would like your advice on aftermarket springs.  I want to improve
the cornering ability without sacrificing my kidneys to the gods of
performance.  Your feedback is greatly appreciated.
