E30. Convertible and other Bumpers.

I have a 1989 325 iC.  It has the 3 piece bumpers.  The plastic piece is =
body coloured.  My 1988 325 iS has three piece bumpers too.  The plastic =
piece is black.  The main part of it is aluminium with a black strip on =
it.

Later E30s had the one/two piece bumpers that were body coloured and had =
no aluminium parts to them.  They had body coloured plastic and a black =
strip.

So, I guess there are three kinds of bumpers - 2 kinds of three piece ones =
(with body coloured and without body coloured plastic piece) and 1 kind of =
2 piece one with body coloured piece!

Whew!

I might add that the 3 piece bumpers look pretty bad.  They work well =
though.  I once backed up against my brother's Mazda 626 and pushed it =
aside SIDEWAYS.  It was stuck and he lost the keys.  Long story.  The =
bumpers held up just fine.  I'm sure the nicer looking 2 piece bumpers =
would not be able to do this. =20

That said, I'm looking to convert my convertible to the 2 piece bumper.  =
Anyone got any ideas about fit?
