Paul--after 7 hours on the Thruway and Rte.81 in NY and Hwy.401 in Canada
returning from Mt. Tremblant I've had to go over virtually the entire car
with WD-40 to get rid of the tar and other road crap. I've had no
problems at all, but I wash the car right afterwards and I keep the car
waxed.  For spot problems you shouldn't worry.
