<E36 325> Top end rattle sometimes

hi all,
    I'm not sure if this is correct for this model Bimmer but I remember many years
ago (1979/1980) my brother had a 320i & he mentioned to me this very same problem
... it was the aftermarket oil filter he had used (no anti-drainback valve). When
he went to a German OEM filter the problem went away. Needless to say I have always
used OEM (German) filters on my 2002 & have not experienced this problem.
