<E28><M5> model years

everyone,

with all this talk of E28 M5's i got to wondering about the model years it
was imported.  i have never ever seen an E28 M5 for sale other than 1988 MY.
i have a brochure, however, which lists it and i thought it was an '89
brochure.  although i see that is was printed in 1988.  how about some
clarification from you E28 M guys...jerry chyo...others....please....thanks
