1999 Detroit Auto Show

Just got back from the 1999 Detroit Auto Show. Now being a car enthusiast
for my natural born post-pubescent life, I had this dreamy vision of exotic
cars, but I was dissapointed. Maybe the detroit auto show is not
fundamentally the same as the Tokyo or Geneva, but I was still expecting to
be more excited than I was. The BMW lounge at the BMW lounge requires
either a registration or your car keys to prove that you won a BMW to get
in. Unfortunately I left my keys at home and rode with a friend so I can't
tell you what it's all like inside. From the outside it appeared as if
there were free drinks inside but I can't confirm that. I wasn't able to
see the //M3 but I saw the //M5.

My overall opinion is that a day at a 200+ used car auction or driving
around looking at used car lots is much more interesting. However, Lotus
didn't make it this year which was one of my biggest let-downs, along with
the ferrari exhibit not letting you get close to their cars. I guess I am
just dissapointed with most new cars being produced. They lack style. My
friend disagrees.

Just thought I would let everyone know to bring their car keys or proof of
BMW ownership to be admitted into the exclusive BMW lounge.
