Another approach? I just noticed in a friend's 1996(?) 318 there is a
long, narrow console component next to the emergency brake which
accommodates two cup holders plus a tape/CD slot. It *looks* like it would
fit on an E30, and appears to be a separate component which pops into a
holder on the 318.
Anyone ever try adapting one of those?
