Hi all,
Well, after days of woe with loss of air pressure from my left rear tire
(including a visit to National Tire and Battery during which they told me
nothing was wrong and no air was leaking), the sidewall has completely
failed, either causing the air loss or resulting from unintentionally
driving on a flat tire. Unfortunately, I can't find another tire of the
same size anywhere and Tire Rack tells me it may take them 2-3 weeks to get
one. I'd rather not drive around with no spare tire for that long (plus the
spare is EXTREMELY ugly in comparison to the nice 17" M alloys). By chance,
does anyone on the digest have one unmounted Michelin Pilot SX MXX3
245/45ZR17 (stock rear tire from 96 and up M3) they're willing to sell?
Used is fine, but it needs to have <10k miles and no track/X-cross time.
I'm in the Atlanta area and will pick it up anywhere within an hour or two;
otherwise I'd try to arrange a FedEx pickup (I can get a 75% discount with
them). Thanks.
The other thing (oh my god my car's falling apart!) is that I have the
same rear clunking problem that the person (lost his name-sorry) with th 97
M3 has had. I'm leaving right now to do the e-brake test; if this turns out
to be the problem, can someone please advise how to do the necessary
adjustment? Thank you.
