I recently had a similar problem. Once or twice a week my ASC+T light would
come on and stay on. Sometimes it would come on within minutes of starting
the car. Other times it would take a good 30 miles. If I turned off the car
and restarted, the light would be off...waiting to surprise me while
driving. The solution (or so I hope, since it's only been a week since it
was fixed) was to replace the ASC throttle housing and cable. I don't know
how much it costs to fix since it was replaced under warranty. I'm confident
at least the cable was at fault since had an independent dealer look at it
before I brought it into a BMW dealer and he told me to replace the cable.
This dealer didn't mention anything about the throttle.
