Hood Bra

First of all thank you to all the digesters for their suggestions about
safe parking.
I tried them all, still got some dings.
Now I'm trying  1) a car cover (with a lock, of course), 2) a full hood bra
and 3) watching the car as frequently as I can.

Anyhow my question is about hood bra.
What is the overall opinion about putting a full hood bra on a new car (3
weeks old).
Could it have any adverse effect on the new paint.  I am afraid it would
result in more damages than benefits.
