RE ZYMOLED OUT!EVERYTHING YOU WANT TO KNOW ABOUT WAX

    Hello Fellow BMW waxing-haters,
Ok, here's the deal. Zymol is a great wax comprised of anywhere
between 30-50% Carnuba for the "cheap stuff" ($40-$100) and 50-70% pure
Carnuba for the expensive stuff $200-$800. And yes, this stuff runs
upward of a THOUSAND dollars for Atlantique Concours waxes. (Refillable
for life though). Well anyways, Carnuba Zymol is a pain in the @ss to
apply because it has so much pure wax in it. Obviously, there are
softeners and oils in the wax to make application easier but it is still
alot like applying a candle to your cars. There are techniques that
make the application of Zymol easy but it must be done by an experienced
person by hand. ie-->using body temp or a hair-dryer to help melt the
wax. That's why you are never going to be able to take it to Joe's
auto-detailing and expect to hand them your BMW and a tub of
Zymol---It's not going to be pretty.
Ok, my next point, there are no synthetic waxes in Zymol and thus,
after a few weeks of road salts, air, sun, or rain, or merely washing,
the wax deteriorates. (Zymol melts on your car after it has bonded to
the paint a 150 degrees. YOur paint EASILY gets this hot on a hot
summer day in Florida, etc.) Well anyways, there is a SOLUTION! USE
another German wax called P-21S that applies like BUTTER and has both
Carnuba and Synthetic waxes. P-21S melts at over 1000 degrees which
means it is NOT coming off on a hot summer day!!!! I can wax my M3 or
325is in less than an hour using this after CLAYING the paint to get all
the roadcrap off of the surface. (CLAYING is SO unbelievably important
to having a wax finish that will stand driving). And, if you want the
exact product that is Zymol HD CLENSE for 25% of the price, buy Meguiars
#7 show car glaze. (no abrasive). ZYMOL is now owned by Turtle Wax
which buys #7 from Meguiars and puts a scent in it and rebottles it as
HD CLENSE and quadruples the price.
SO, the moral is, unless you have a vintage Ferrari that is never
driven, use Zymol if you want; however, if you plan on driving your BMW,
use P-21S products for a longerlasting, equally pretty, result. (no
affiliation with either company)
                                            Usual disclaimers
apply....No responsibility for your waxing problems.!!
