42 volt systems and new M5

There was an article recently on this in Automotive Industries.  The
battery will be 36 volts, and the nominal system voltage will be 42 volts
(similar to today's 12 / 14 volts).  Two main reasons, smaller motors /
actuators / power supply lines, and many components switching to electric
like water pumps, and steering for example.

On another note,  the latest issue of Autoweek mentions the new M5
cornering at 1.2g's - gotta get one of those! (good thing I live in
Detroit, where everyone likes to say "you can sleep in your car, but you
can't drive your house").
