Take Charles' word for it, this is a great leasing "strategy" and I have
used this strategy in leasing my last three BMW's. Further, it is best to
avoid the "cap cost reduction" altogether. BMW will generally allow you to
"prepay" the last ten months of the lease, which will likely lower you
monthly lease payments by $35 - $75 per month, depending on the inherent
price. (Keep in mind that you are losing the use of the prepayment and any
interest it would earn but you would lose that in the cap cost reduction as
well) Charles mentioned having the amount refunded to you at the end of the
lease. I usually apply it to the last ten lease payments. In any rate the
real moral is to avoid the cap cost reduction when leasing.
